What's Cooler Than A Kenny "Sky" Walker High Top Fade…?
… how about this "Sky" Walker Auto? This Panini Prestige Old School Auto is numbered 76 of 100 and features one of the highest flying Knickerbockers of all-time. The former Kentucky 2-time All-American was selected by the Knicks 5th overall in the first round of the 1986 NBA Draft. Walker only played five years with the Knicks, but he did manage to win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1989. Aside from having a very cool and deserved nickname, "Sky" Walker, Kenny also sported one of the best high top fade haircuts ever. I think even Christopher "Kid" Reid from the late 80's hip-hop duo Kid 'N Play would be proud. One things for sure, I'm really pumped to have this cool Old School auto in my collection.
Excellent card. I am a Kenny Walker collector as well. I had a ball signed by him and Roger Harden (another UK senior that year) the year he got drafted.
Now those were the days when the Dunk Contest was actually worth watching... and that Walker "Old School" autograph is nothing short of sweet my friend. Nice pickup.
That card is ridiculously awesome!

ReplyDeleteSick card bro.
ReplyDeleteLove me some Kenny "Sky" Walker. His dunks were impressive that year, but his haircut was even more impressive.
@all, thanks guys. These Old School cards just pop off the screen. They scan really well. I've wanted this card for some time now.

ReplyDelete@Fuji, thanks Mark. I agree about the Dunk Contests. They sure were fun back then. Not like the product placement laden marketing shows of today.
