Poll: What's The Yankees Biggest Need?

(1997 Upper Deck SPx Cornerstones #'d/500)
So with the World Series over, it's time to get back to the important stuff. Like what the Yankees need to do to get back in the Series next year. The Yankees recently resigned Manger Joe Girardi to a three year deal, so what's the Yankees most urgent need this offseason to get number 28?

  1. What is the Yankees biggest need to address this offseason?

Hmmm... I think they need to stop signing every decent free agent and give my A's and Padres a chance.

By the way... this is coming from a LA Lakers fan... damn I'm such a hypocrite. I honestly wish I could stop liking the Lakers... but they're my childhood team.

    Have a good one C!

  2. HaHaHa, if I lived out there in Cali, I would prolly be a laker fan too. Fortunately, I don't live out there, so I can be a Knicks fan.

  3. No question, its in the pitching. They are always a threat to score runs and their defense is solid enough. They also seem to pick up a "seasoned veteran" pitcher during the of season, but don't rely too much on young starters. When Rivera (how many seasons has he got left) get the ball, for the most part, the game its over. The real problem seems to be when one of their star pitchers is having an off day and is knocked out in the middle innings. That's when the ream falls apart. The Yankees have never had good middle relief.

So I think the key is picking up one or two really solid younger starting pitchers who can stay a few years and develop in stars, find a middle reliever who can come in and shut things down. That's the immediate. For the future they have to look towards Mariano retiring and how to replace him when he does.

Now which box do I check on the poll?
