Poll: Which Batter from this Yankees/Red Sox Quad Jersey Would You Want Up in the Bottom of the 9th?
(2008 Upper Deck Ballpark Collection Quad Jersey)
In lue of the Yankees/Red Sox series double-header today, I have a little poll question for readers. Which player from this '08 Upper Deck Ballpark Collection Quad Jersey card would you want up to bat in the bottom of the 9th of an A.L.C.S. game 7 down by one and with two outs? For the purposes of this question, let's assume/consider each player in their prime.
As a Yankees fan, I have seen both Jeter and Ortiz come through in the clutch, but Ortiz tends to belt a bomb that clears the bases. I pains me to do it, but I would want that Yankee Killer up at the plate in this situation.
Actually, the more I think about it, I think Jeter has 21ish home runs in MLB Postseason. I don't think you can go wrong with either guy.
Giambi is on the card. He was solid in PinStripes, but not the guy I want up there with a game on the line.
Youkilis, "The Greek ood of Walks", isn't really a bad choice either. I think he would at least keep the game going.
This is a fun question, but more importantly, I just wanted to show off my BallPark card.
I don't blame you... it's a nice card... I have one with two of my favorite players of all-time on one card: Gwynn & Maddux (along with fellow Padres: Hoffman and Greene).
Maddux is a guy I have thought about collecting too. I think he is easily one of the top 2-3 pitchers of my generation. I'm sure I'll pickup a Maddux card or two in the future, but I can't really afford to add another collection right now. I just have too many other players and sets I'm currently collecting.
Gotta go with Jeter... One of the greatest Yankees of our time... in fact... he's one of the few Yankees I've ever been a fan of.
