At 31 years of age, that's a long contract. It would be fine if this were 2001, but not 2011. Players just don't last like they did ten years ago. Maybe it's the conditioning, the drinking water at those new ballparks or maybe even nutrition. No wait, it's the lack of steroids. No steroids means no 10 year deal for Pujols. At least from this wannabe GM. What do you think. Put your GM hat on and decide whether you would or would not sign Albert Pujols for nearly $300 million over 10 years.
