There have been a number of amazing physical and creative performances in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest over the years, but which is the best overall performance? I picked five videos of the best performances that include each dunk form the selected contests. Sure, there have been some memorable single rounds or dunks by contestants, J.R. Rider's East Bay Funk Dunk, but what if we could compare the best overall performances from the most memorable contestants? Well now you can.

I know, I know. Everyone has there favorite Dunk Contest performances, but I really think these are the best five of all-time: Jordan '88, Webb '86, Carter '00, Wilkins '88 and Richardson '03. So checkout the videos and get to ranking the best overall NBA Slam Dunk Contest performances. Make sure to take into consideration each dunk from all rounds. I hope everyone enjoys these dunktacular videos and of course "…Enjoy Every Bounce of the Ball".

  1. I've got it:

    1. '00 Carter
    2. '86 Webb
    3. '88 Wilkins
    4. '88 Jordan
    5. '03 Richardson

The Jordan/Wilkins decision is a tough one and I think could go either way, but the deciding factor was Jordan's lack of creativity with the "foul line" dunk in the finals of the '88 Contest. It's a great dunk, but he's done it a few times and wasn't even the first to do it. That's my reasoning. They're all great performances.

  2. This is tough. Very tough. But this is my list.

    1. Spud. His height alone makes his the best performance. Imagine what he could do with an extra foot? Nate Robinson is a fuckin poser. Spud was the real deal.

    2. 'Nique. He gave us a perfect windmill.Period.

    3. Michael. I'm sorry, watching that performance gave me the chills. That performance inspired every other dunker.

    4. Vince. I want to put him higher on the list. That is my favorite contest in the modern era. But Jordan and Dominique started it all, Carter just improved on it.

  3. Here's my list for best overall performance...

    1. '86 Webb - every dunk was amazing... the stars were aligned the night Webb won

    2. '00 Carter - some of the dunks were sub 50... but the arm hang was sickening... and the McGrady bounce pass, through the leg dunks is one of the best all-time. Carter did more than just improve on it... he opened the door to the next level.

The next two aren't in the same league as #1 & #2... but it's important to respect the legends of dunk.

    3. '88 Jordan - He might have done it the year before... but I have a Wheaties poster of Jordan's dunk on my garage wall that's was picture perfect. It's a dunk that will stand the test of time.

    4. '88 Wilkins - Jordan may be in a league of his own when it comes to the G.O.A.T., but when it comes to dunking... the Human Highlight Film was neck and neck with him during the 80's.

    And bringing up the rear...

    5. '03 Richardson - I've always liked J-Rich, since he was drafted by the Warriors in 2001... and no doubt he could dunk... that final dunk to win the title was crazy... but for me... it's just not enough to send him into the 2nd tier with Jordan and Wilkins.

  4. I know I have Carter at #1 and you guys have Webb at #1. I put Carter there because he is the combination of all 4 of the other dunkers on this list. However, I can't argue with Webb up at #1. His dunks luck and are that much more impressive because of the air he needed to get to pull those off.

I'm not surprised that Richardson '03 brought up the rear, but those were some pretty nice dunk. In all fairness to J Rich, the competition is fierce.
