Sometimes It Feels Like You've Got The Whole World On Your Shoulders

Sometimes you just feel like you have the whole world on your shoulders. Just ask the former #1 overall pick from the 1995 NBA Draft of the Golden State Worries, Joe Smith. This 1996 Upper Deck card features Smith holding up the world. With career averages of 11 points, 1 assist and 6.5 rebounds/game Smith didn't exactly take the NBA world by storm, but he did have a solid fifteen year career.

  1. Warriors & their 90's draft picks... they sure had some talent: Sprewell, Hardaway (or should I say Webber), VC (I mean Jamison)... and of course Joe Smith. Sure brings back memories. I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes that Smith had a decent career. I've been told to add him to my Sports Bust PC, but I can't do it.

  2. He's been in the Association forever and has scored double digits during that time. Sure, he hasn't been a HOF player, but he has been a solid pro. I love the Worries 90's uni's. Chris Mullin is still of of my all-time favs.

I def don't think Smith deserves being in your Sports Bust PC. There are however some really great 90's auto's and inserts out there that I've thought about collecting. I wish the Worries would have been a bit smarter back in the day. They sure did have some talent. Tim "Killer Crossover" Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin, Spree, C'Web and more. Oh, what could have been.

  3. No joke...

    PG - Tim Hardaway
    SG - Mitch Richmond/Latrell Sprewell
    SF - Chris Mullin
    PF - Chris Webber
C - Erick Dampier (not sure who to start, Dampier, Seikaly, or Bol)

Bench - Billy Owens, Joe Smith, Rony Seikaly, Tyrone Hill, Manute Bol, Avery Johnson, Chris Gatling, Jerome Kersey (honorable mention).

I figure the 98/99 season kicked off the next generation Warriors w/ Jamison... and later Larry Hughes.

  6. Yeah, i used to mimic that move at the playground. Heck, I still pull that move off. Maybe it's just a bit slower these days. Every now and then tho.
